Default 5-bet, 7-bet, or call the river 4-bet?

For those of you that haven't played Crypto sites, you can go as many bets as you want on the river headsup.

Villian is unknown and has plenty of money left. How many should I put in on the river?

Cryptologic 5.00/10.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Flop: (8.00 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)

i'd 5-bet and really consider 7-betting... but 5-bet for sure.

88 is 3x more likely than 33. plus theres A3/K3/Q3 (K3/Q3 being questionable but far from unbelievable overlimps) . plus, our hand looks retarded.

I'd probably go to 6. He either has a boat, but whether he has 8's or Q's is unclear. He could be a donk with just a 3 too.

I think that in the spirit of one of the all time greatest bands, I'm taking this one up to eleven.

There are still three times as many combinations of 88 as there are of 33. And he may still be too frisky with A3. You don't have to worry about QQ. I'm going at least to 7, and I'll stop at 11.

Yeah, and if Q3 is in his range, I think 7 betting is pretty obvious.

I would go seven.
I wouldn't have raised 99 from the BB 4 handed, because you are praying to hit your set or a great flop. And you don't have the right odds to just pump preflop.
You hit a great flop - but are still in trouble when he caps it and there is a third person along.
With that in mind from the perspective of a villian, I can't put you on hitting the nine for a set. And you don't have QQ or you would have tried to trap the UTG player on the turn by leading.

hm.. you raised preflop, so he can put you on QQ, no?
Also, you wouldn't just flatcall his turn bet with QQ.
But in the heat of the moment he doesn't remember the turn action for sure.
Also, would he limp over with one limper with 88 here? I kinda doubt. I raise his 4-bet and call another one, but I'm a pussy.

Fold the turn unless you think he could have an 8 and play it this way. And if you think he does, you should cap it. On the river, A3x8 combos, 88x3 vs 33x1. I'd 7-bet here and cry when he shows 33.

I like at least 7 betting here. He can't put you on 99 or QQ. I don't think it is likely the way he played the flop that he has QQ and if you are up against 33 so be it.
