Default AA first hand in big pot, standard line?

That's right, no reads, no stats--just two cards and a big pot. Was I right to wait to raise on the turn?

Raise the flop, you'll drag more people along who are down to 4s, or overcards who have almost not chance to win, and get more action from potential flush draws who will call a lot of bets on the flop and turn, but will not call them on the river.

Plus, if you go nuts now, when high cards come on later streets someone with a weak king may be more inclined to think their hand is good, since you couldn't possibly have AA or KK now could you?

I'd raise that flop. There's no logical cap hand that villan can have that this board helps. Your just missing bets.

You should give the reasons you thought waiting for the turn to raise is a good idea. It will more likely shed light on the topic for you.

I raise, reraise, cap until someone convinces me they've got my uber-pair beat.

I'm guessing you were thinking the best way to protect your hand was making button and SB call two big ones cold on the turn? if you really want to know the answer to your question, figure out villains' range of hands and do the math.

I think you missed a few on the flop there, and you're showing UTG a higher PP.

Waiting to raise on the turn does you no good. Even facing the players behind you with 2 bets cold on the turn they're getting 8:1 to call...even the 65 gutshot straight is close to having the odds to call here, with implied. And with 5 players seeing the flop, I think this table is loose enough that a flop raise isn't going to loose you too many "customers." Ram-n-jam until a four-flush or 4 to a straight comes up, or the board pairs > TT. Then you could start worrying.

More like two cards, big pot and and unraised flop. Raise that flop, yo!

I like this line if you're HU. Here, I would just raise the flop.
