Dual Monitor Not Working
I have a Radeon 9600 videocard and I'm trying to dual monitor. If I just plug in one monitor it works fine, if I try to plug in a second into the white jack, they both go black and I can't see anything. I tried adding a 2nd video card, and I can't get the 2nd monitor to go more than 4 bits, even though the correct drivers are installed.
Thanks for your help! |

Re: Dual Monitor Not Working
Try pluging in the monitor with the power off, then turn on the monitor power followed by the computer power. Are you using a laptop? My laptop has an extra slot for a second monitor, so you don't need a new video card in that case.

Re: Dual Monitor Not Working
No no no, you have to reverse the polarity of the plasma power conduits, then try a manual override of the phase inverter units.

Re: Dual Monitor Not Working
In your Device Mangager under Display Adapters do you see 2 video cards? Should be Radeon 9600 Series and Radeon 9600 Series - Secondary
If they are both there shut down, pull the power plug from the back of your computer, plug in the 2nd monitor, plug the power back in, and boot up. As a precaution you should never plug anthing into your computer while you still have the power cord plugged in. The only exception is USB or Firewire devices - they are meant to be jacked in while you are running. |

Re: Dual Monitor Not Working
You might try updating the bios on your motherboard. I had problems getting dual video cards to work on my machine until I did this.

[/ QUOTE ] I recently did a dual monitor set up using that video card and I too had some problems getting the DVI port (white plug) to work. After trying this and that, I called their support. It turned out I had to download something called "Control Panel" from their site. When I did this, it added a whole bunch of more tabs in the display window where you play with your monitor settings. These addtional tabs then allowed you to do things to your dual monitor. None of this was included in the literature that came with the card. The best thing to is call them and ask. There's a guy named Greg there. He's very helpful. BTW, once you get your dual monitor going, get ULTRAMON if you don't already know about it. I forgot the exact site where you get this, but I'm sure you can search and find it. It's basically a software that lets you extend your taks bar to span all the across your two monitors, among other pretty nifty things related to managing your windows on the two monitors. |

Yeah schneids, try getting new drivers and start with the DVI one and then add the VGA one second. |
