Default Cingular EDGE network? (x-post from computer forum)

I am considering buying a PC card modem through Cingular for use on the edge network. Has any one used this service for multitabling Party Poker? If so is the speed reasonable for the sole purpose of playing poker?

Default Re: Cingular EDGE network? (x-post from computer forum)

i think tdarko has this one.

I have the verizon-wireless card which I believe is pretty much the same thing as the cingular-EDGE.

It works great.
Occasional drop-outs but it's pretty easy to reconnect.

If you are in a major market where you get the broadband-access (instead of just the regular digital-cellular access in a smaller town) then the speed is quite good.

I'm in Memphis where we don't have the broadband-access yet and the speed is still easily good enough. About twice the speed of dial-up (which I previously used to multi-table).
Traveled to Washington DC recently where they ahve the full-blown broadband and it was awesome.
