Some Big stack problems on the Bubble

I got really lucky and 2 guys pushed in front of me and there i was with AA and it held up. That explains my big stack.
Thought i was making the correct plays, but then again i dont really know.

This I push 100% of the time.


Well ok the 100%'s might be slight exaggerations but I am sure these are the right moves here.

Of the 3 mentioned, the last I feel is the biggest mistake. Q6 heads from sb with only 5½ times the bb is a strong push. The second hand (J7) is probably a minor mistake and the 1st one (JT) I'm not to sure about.

Otherwise I think you did well.

The JT hand I was basing on reads, he was min raising and folding to a reraise a lot during the hands that he posted, I assume he will do it again, and probably has a marginal hand to boot.

I just don't like the J7 move, you have >10bb and it's too likely one of them will look you up here, people take chances a lot more ITM. Maybe it's just me but that's not my style to push that there.

I agree with you on the other two hands, but I dont think I would push this. Villian put in a raise that, to me, shows he wants a call. Id hate to have a "typical" 10+1er call me w/Ax,Kx,Qx. Which is very possible. I want to get my chips in there when Im ahead.

But I will give credit that he could just as easily fold after putting in 1/3 of his stack. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I think that Tigerite nailed it. The J7 hand, I would never push. Not pushing the Q6 hand from the SB was inexcusable. The TJs hand, I think that you could have at least called and seen a flop. But the first two hands that I mentioned were big mistakes, IMO. Why would you push J7 as first to act, but fold Q6 from the SB?

I was actually going to suggest stop and go the JTs hand, but thought I'd get slaughtered for it, lol. I think it's marginal push, I don't hate the fold, just that this guy seems very weak-tight from the previous plays..

I was thinking the same thing. If the guy was raising with something like A8 and we pull a stop-n-go, that would have probably worked, whereas pushing over the top pre-flop likely wouldn't have.

But I don't hate his fold. The J7 and Q6 hands were terrible.

Is it considered good strategy to open push premium hands? Hero did so with J-J and K-K, in both hands he had his opponents covered. Why not play to win more chips with these hands?

If I put sb on "loose" calling standards and bb on "maniac" calling standards it is a break even move according to icm.

I'd still fold it though (because bb will probably call even more than the "maniac" 21%)
