Default COMRADES, please critique/tear up a bunch of hands

Hey guys, this is a long post. I'd great appreciate it if you would tear up my play and point out any mistakes. I'm still making money but I've kinda hit a road block where I am constantly second guessing my decisions. Thanks

Default Re: COMRADES, please critique/tear up a bunch of hands

1. This seems okay, I probably would raise less but enough to commit myself to the hand, there's no way I'm folding this that's for sure..

2. Standard
3. 99 is just a bit too good for me to let go here, I re-raise all in to isolate. He has 6BB and is UTG, people do wacky stuff when blinds are about to hit. You have him massively covered.
4. Not sure you need to re-raise quite this much? Just to 80 or so would have the same effect.
5. It's a close decision on the flop whether to check or bet, I err towards check and obviously then check-raise if or when the preflop raiser bets, which he probably will, because he's a donk. Turn.. hmm. I think I would just check and see what he does? No need to push this.
6. What the hell is this. You're seeing ghosts mate. Bet the flop, and re-assess from there.
7. This is tough but she's raised about 30% of her stack, I don't think she's folding, and I don't think you need to make this move right now.. and she's from UTG. I actually think in this situation fold > call > push. The small stacks are not small enough that she will fold to your push if she has you beat.
8. Meh this is very close, and read-dependent entirely. Got to be close to a call though.

Thanks tigerite!

You were exactly one of the posters whom I was looking foward to hearing from.

I guess I have another question as well for any seasoned vets. I've played 217, $10 sit n gos and my ITM is 41% and ROI is 23%. I think I'm doing well. However, the higher my bank roll becomes, the more "scared poker" I feel obliged to play. I'm playing mind games with myself wondering if what I did was correct, and just constantly second guessing myself. I've played many sit n gos before this (months ago) and I've always been decent. However, I just started this new run (217 so far) and I can honestly say that I was playing more comfortably after 100 sit n gos than now after 217. How can i combat this irrational self doubt?

That I really can't answer for you, but if it helps, when I came back from my long break and finally went back into the SNGs I was awful, really. I then started playing better, then had 13 OOTM with the worst beats imaginable, and now in the last 50 am on a real upturn again. I play pretty weak-tight in the early stages, but to an extent. I will always take at least a stab at a pot for instance if I rate to be ahead. Just keep belief in your poker and the rest will fall into place, don't second guess or doubt yourself, and definitely don't play scared because of some bad beats, or heaven forbid the odd bad read, we all make them, don't worry.

Oh and my ROI and ITM over the 239 I've played since coming back, allowing for the fact that I was crap in probably my first 80, is at 16% and 36%. 1st/2nd/3rd/4th at 15%/12%/9%/8%, or thereabouts.

Oh, just as an FYI, most of those hands that I posted I ended winning. I just want to make sure that they were the right plays or if there's a better play.

The more I think about the TT hand when the flush hit the more I think it doesn't make sense. I mean why would I go all in after a card pops up that makes my hand slightly worse? I probably could have bet less I'm thinking.

Well at least half the hands I don't really see much wrong with, maybe just the bet amounts. Just the two 99 hands I don't fully understand, maybe you don't like the hand or something

I'm on the other side of the fence on #7 & #8

#7 I see way too many bets like this that are just weak steal attempts. I think you will get a fold here 50% with a push and are a 60/40 or better with alot of the calls. If this was the first standard raise from a push monkey I'd play it differently. If you lose your still in the fight. If you win 1st is much more realistic.

#8 I fold given the stacks and that your only ahead of a handful of hands, flipping with most, and in deep crap with the rest.

Nah, I fold 8 too, I just meant it's close to a call, as in 77 would be much more appealing here, and 88 is almost certainly a call I think. As for 7, well ok yes, if you have a read that the person's a bit donkish, then a push is alright, but most tend to tighten up on the bubble and not try to steal against the chip leader, I dunno, it is tough as I say.. give the small stack just a couple of hundred less and I like the push a lot more, that's all..

1. I wouldn't do it but I don't think that its bad
2. standard, you could do this face up and it would be profitable
3. I'de probably push, but its close and folding is by no means wrong
4. I'de raise less. You have to learn how to play a tricky turn card at some point.
5. this is tricky and something that I've been having trouble with myself. I think that I would check and either raise or fold if he bets. If it checks around and an A hits I won't be heart broken.
6. I'de bet here and know that I will be folding on the later streets sometimes. Once again though, there's nothing wrong with the line that you took.
7. Looks good
8. very easy fold

edit: after reading the other responses I just wanted to add that I really don't think that hand 8 is close. You have to be insane to call here.

I wouldn't mind hearing some debate on hand 7. I'm not sure what the best play is here. I can see calling, raising, and folding as possible. I'm pushing here, but I'm not sure if it's optimal.

Hand 1.

It doesn't seem terrible, but I don't do it. I raise to about 200. If I had a stack of about 600, I'd probably push.

Hand 2.

Easy push.

Hand 3.

This one depends on how tom has been playing and how the big stack has been playing. I'm leaning towards pushing, but not sure.

Hand 4.

I wouldn't raise by that much. I'd just raise to like 75.

Hand 5.

I don't know what is going on with the wierd bet amounts. I'm probably affected by seeing what he did, but I think he is very likely to make a moderate bet on the flop and I think check/call the flop and then allin on the turn is a good line here.
