Re: Bots now cost
a couple bits of great news most definately.
the HH's (if true) show that the bot users will probably lose money no matter what table they are on. "Paradise unlike Party is just closing accounts for using it." and this part is even better. |

Re: Bots now cost
Hope you used your credit card so you can
charge this back when he doesnt give you a refund. Just tell your credit card company you were duped. |

Re: Bots now cost
I hope so! Don't support this guy in any way shape or
form. Just to let you know how the charge back works, you have to call your CC company and say you demanded a refund because this guy claimed the program could do more than it could, etc, etc. They'll send you out some forms in the mail, where you document everything (you might want to start now)...You can print his ad, emails, etc.. Then it will be reviewed by someone and they will send him out a form..99.999999999% of the time you will succeed, regardless if he tries to argue with you or not. His merchant account might get closed if he gets more than around a 3% charge back rate. In my lifetime I am 2-0 on chargebacks via online. One of them was quite satisfiying as I argued with the owner about his service, told him I would charge it back, and he straight out told me he didnt care because I wouldnt prevail. As a merchant myself, I am 0-1 on chargebacks. Some guy/girl claimed I charged him around $12.00 for some porn, which was total BS..Even though I had 100's of legitimate charges with no complaints till then, and fought my side hard, he won. P.S. How much was it? |

Re: Bots now cost
Not the CC companys fault. Be honorable and just eat it.

Re: Bots now cost
The CC company doesn't eat the charge, they simply don't pay that amount to the merchant. That's why you usually have a limited time to do a chargeback.
In the case of PayPal, the CC company will not pay PayPal and in turn PayPal will reverse the amount in the merchants account (PayPal Balance). If they don't have the amount in thier account, they'll take it from their bank account (which you need to link to your paypal account to be a verified merchant). |

Bots or Trojan horse
Please forgive me for posting this same thing in two threads, but I just don’t understand this and I want to hear what the majority opinion is.
Does everyone not believe the earlier claim that this bot program comes with a Trojan horse? Or does everyone not know yet? Or has it been proven that this claim is false? (For those who don’t know, a Trojan horse is sort of like a virus. It’s a program on your computer that lets a hacker see your computer. So, if you have it, and are playing on an internet poker room, this hacker can see your cards on his computer monitor.) |

Re: Bots now cost
This was up on RGP:
Well I installed Winholdem to see what the fuss was about.... Strangely, now when I sign in to netteller, my pc tries to open up an IRC connection (as detected by Cisco Security Agent, a firewall type program). It may not be winholdem, but something has definitely infected my machine within a day of installing winholdem and has tried to broadcast my netteller information to an IRC channel. Beware... I really don't understand all of this techno-talk, but I thought someone from here or one of the other 2+2 forums checked to see if it was opening a ISP connection on it's own. I wouldn't have anything to do with this kind of software, but other poker software does interests me. Unfortunately not everyone is as trusted as Pat in our little world. My nightmare is downloading a trojan that is directed entirely at my poker BR. MS Sunshine |

Re: Bots now cost
There were some people who claimed they checked it out and said winHoldem wasn’t making any “unusual” connections.
Phooey on that. The only way to know that is to monitor the connections your computer is making all the time, every minute of every day. This thing could lay in wait and make it’s connection weeks or months down the road. If it is on your computer, it has access to all your account names and to all your passwords. If you have an always-on connection, it could empty all of your accounts while you are sleeping. Even if you use dial-up, it could, in a second, make one short connection and send your passwords to these guys, who could then play your account. How’d ya like to log on and find out you lost your whole bankroll last night in a $20/$40 game? Anyone who does business with cheaters deserves everything he gets. |
