Just sat down, no real reads, except this guys pretty typical. Am I inducing a bet from air enough?

I like this a lot better than a bet/fold. He's probably peeling light often enough with gutshots and whatnot that check/call becomes better than value betting against his a missed Ax.

thats usually my standard line against an unknown, to induce a bluff.

I'd probably c/f this river, the 8 is a bad card...any straight draw either got there or made a pair. I like a check better than a bet though because almost no worse hands call, but better and worse hands will check through giving you a free showdown.

Your avg 5/10 opponent isn't going to bluff at this pot more than 1 in 6 IMO.
