Default Why?

Why is the WPT still on the travel channel? It certainly seems to be popular enough that a major network would take it up.

First, they probably have a contract that they have to fulfill until it expires. Secondly, major broadcast networks probably aren't convinced yet it can hold its own primetime. As awesome as the NBC HU championship was they gave it a really crappy time slot and only played it primetime as a rerun on the never watched CNBC.

However, I remember hearing that CBS is in thr process of producing a poker series that will air next fall, so if that succeeds every other network will jump on the bandwagon. Whether that means trying to get the WPT or WSOP or producing their own is hard to say.

BTW has anyone heard anything lately about the poker tour CBS is producing??

The Travel Channell extended it's contract with the WPT for something like 6-8 more years.
