But while we're suggesting albums, if you don't own it, I'd suggest getting The Meadowlands by The Wrens.

[/ QUOTE ]

Very nice suggestion, have it already. BTW, the Wrens put on an insanely great live show. One of the best shows I've seen in the last few years.

I'm seeing them on the 16th of July. CD is amazing

Stephen Malkmus was the lead singer of Pavement.

Sleater-Kinney is a 3-piece girl rock band, their latest is their 7th album. They're amazing, one of my favorite bands.

Default Some More Good New Music

I remembered this thread while I mentioned this compilation CD in the Bob Dylan thread:

01 The Arcade Fire - Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels) 04:51
02 Richmond Fontaine - Welhorn Yards 03:17
03 The National - Mr November 03:57
04 Hal - Worry About The Wind 04:07
05 Magnolia Electric Co - The Dark Don't Hide It 04:13
06 Songdog - One Day When God Begs My Forgiveness 04:16
07 The 101'ers - Silent Telephone 02:17
08 Teenage Fanclub - Slow Fade 01:54
09 Iggy And The Stooges - I Got A Right 03:09
10 Antony & The Johnsons - Fistful Of Love 05:51
11 Dwight Twilley - Chance Of A Lifetime 03:37
12 The Yards - Fireflies 06:02
13 South San Gabriel - I Am Six Pounds Of Dynamite 05:38
14 British Sea Power - Be Gone 02:54
15 MC5 - Skunk (Sonically Speaking) 05:13
16 The Magic Numbers - Wich Way To Happy 04:26

The Iggy, MC5, and 101'ers are the only old songs. Tracks 2 & 6 should really appeal to Dylan/Waits fans. #10 didn't do much for me, but the rest all seemed pretty good, esp. 4,5, & 8. 16 is really good too, if a bit hippy-spacey. I'm not wild about Arcade Fire's singer but the music is great, tho I actually preferred the song from Funeral on the MOJO compilation.

Unfn'ly, this was last month's issue of UNCUT(w/Stevie Wonder on cover) so it might be hard to find.

I'll defo check out The Go! Team.

Nobody has mentioned "Junior Kickstart" as one of the best songs on the album? Inconceivable.

There's nothing about that KILL BILL-esque soundtrack groove machine that isn't awesome. The opening muted trumpet line that bleeds into the insanely exhilarating drum fill (00:39) and then the bass guitar underlining the main theme, followed by a harmonica solo later on... it's just goddam genius. I mean Jesus Christ. Genius.

I recommend Fisherspooner and Mylo.

These are both average:
Bloc Party
Gorillaz

Sleater Kinney is a whiny chick band.
