Default 100r stars 1/3 players left

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (8 handed) converter

MP2 (t12090)
CO (t58507)
Hero (t17388)
SB (t24512)
BB (t20580)
UTG (t9730)
UTG+1 (t23450)
MP1 (t20490)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG+1 raises to t3200</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, CO calls t3200, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t17338</font>

utg+1 might have a hand i dont know. seems to have been raising once or twice an orbit and taking blinds. CO is chipleader and dont really think hes got anything.

should i wait for a better spot or no?

I fold here as I don't want to commit my stack with AQ against a UTG raiser and a MP caller. Easy fold IMO. A call is another good option but I definatly do not push this hand preflop. Also, you'll only get called by a lot of hands that have you beat (QQ KK AA AK) and the ones you dominate will fold easily (AJ A10 Axs KQ KJ) and I think all lower pairs will fold too 99 and under. But the fact is that you are against an UTG raiser that represents strength. EASY FOLD!!!

He might have been raising to steal pots...but not from UTG +1. Easy fold.

yes most of the time i am only going to be called when im beat.

i was raising to just take it down preflop. i thought my fold equity + pot equity combined made it an ok play.

i think this is pretty legit. i'm folding some pretty big hands here if i'm utg+1. i'd toss TT/AQ.

also remember that this is utg+1 8-handed. that's MP1 on party 10-handed.

I think I like it. The players are aggressive in this tourney and can steal w/ a wide range in EP. UTG needs a big hand to continue, and if he folds CO may call you because of his pot odds, but you won't see any hand that dominates AQs, so that's ok.

You gotta keep making moves.

I like the push, it adds a huge chunk to your stack. A call is pretty ok too.

the first two responses were "EASYFOLD!@!@!@" lol so at least im not going crazy

as it turned out utg+1 had JJ and called but i busted. what i notice now but didnt at the time was that his raise was 4xBB wheres most of the table had been making it 3xBB. i guess that couldve clued me in that he had a pretty biggish hand.

I think over all i like a call the best. Then you can use the texture of the flop and the actions of your opponents before you to gauge what you want to do after...if you hit top pair and/or a flush draw, I'm probably pushing.
