Most underrated college football conference.

The fact that the SEC has two teams with the best record in the country, one of them undefeated, in the last 2 years and has 1/2 a National Championship and didn't even make the BCS game in one of those years is asinine.

I agree, but I didn't think the OP was asking who the BCS under-rated. The BCS is screwing the SEC, but I think most college football fans realize that, and I think most college football fans give the SEC fair credit. Maybe I'm wrong...I do live in the south.

What SEC teams do you think are underrated? They'll have 2 top 5 teams, another top 10 team and 3 more ranked teams when the polls come out this week.

The preseason ranking was one of the reasons that kept Auburn out the the title game last year.

They should wait a couple of games before issuing the first poll to get a better feel for the stronger teams.

Of course they do. Everytime USC comes into a season ranked #1, they're going to maintain that title as long as they don't lose any games, which is fair. But teams like Auburn and LSU will never get the chance to prove that they're better than USC because their pre-season ranking wasn't high enough, thus keeping them out of the BCS title game, which isn't fair.

Who would that be? There were three undefeated teams last year, and Auburn could only schedule UL-Monroe, UL-Lafayette, and the Citadel as their non-conference games. Sorry, but two D-1AA teams and a weak D-1A team doesn't cut it. It's tough to convince me of a conferences superiority when the top team doesn't play anyone except for inside the conference. So, someone had to get left out, they were the one who did, and they didn't exactly dominate VT while USC romped over OU, so they didn't get a split in the polls. The year before, there was once again 3 teams all with legitamite claims, and both USC and LSU looked good in their bowl games, so they each got one poll. Besides, all the talk about that game wasn't that LSU didn't belong, but that Oklahoma didn't after losing to Kansas State. So, I fail to see how the SEC team got robbed in either case. Hell, if Auburn got robbed, so did Utah. They didn't even get to play a good team, just Pitt. The fact of the matter is, until their is a playoff, the system blows, so whining about specific teams and conferences getting hosed by the BCS is just homerism. Complain about the system, not who gets screwed each time.
