KK vs maniac 1/2
This is my first time at 1/2 at party poker.
My table was pretty loose, and the villian was a complete maniac. At the time, I was pretty sure I had the best hand, but looking at it a bit more, I think I over did it a bit (i'm now maybe thinking - check/call at turn 3-bet). When, if at all, should I slow down against LAGs? How often does a situation like this occur? Thanks. Party Poker (9 max, 9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB raises, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, BB calls, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, BB calls, Hero caps, SB calls, BB calls. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, BB folds, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls. Final Pot: 36.5 BB? P.S. the converter didn't work properly. i think there is an error in the hand history text. |

Re: KK vs maniac 1/2
The flop looks good. I am scared after he 3-bets the turn and also because the BB keeps hanging around in there. I'm not sure what he is doing. The cap probably isn't a terrible play at that point, but I probably just call down from there. I think your river play is a bit much though. But again, it really depends on just how crazy the player is.

Re: KK vs maniac 1/2
It honestly depends on what you mean by maniac. Against some villians, like those that will bet/cap any street with one pair type hands, I think it is ok, though the ace on the river does scare me. Against a very loose aggressive that slow down when faced with aggression unless he has a stronger hand, I likely slow down, and just call the river.
EDIT: Wanted to clarify a little more. I have like 10,000 players in my PT datablase over like 65K hands. I have run into maybe 10 opponents where I am willing to put this many bets in with your hand. Your hand is not THAT strong. |
