Default Shootout?

How does a shootout differ from a normal tournament?

Thanks,

Default Re: Shootout?

In a normal tournament, players are moved around and tables are broken up as players get eliminated, so every table stays full and has roughly the same number of players.

A shootout is organized like a knockout tournament. Each table plays down to a winner, and then those winners advance to the next round. For example, if there is a Hold'em shootout with 100 players, they would start at ten tables, play down to a winner at each table without moving anyone, and then have the ten winners play down to an ultimate winner. Bigger tournaments may have a third round.
