Trips in Trouble
Party 15-30.
Fairly solid, straightforward but aggressive player is MP2. Hero is in MP1. Fairly sure his stats on me are 16/7 ish. Hero open-raises with KQ. MP2 3-bets, only hero calls. Flop: AQQ rainbow Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls Turn: 5 Hero checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, MP2 3-bets, Hero folds. Standard? |

Re: Trips in Trouble

Standard? [/ QUOTE ] I'd say anything but. The checkcall/checkraise should not scare anyone in the party 15 these days and if your opponent is solid it shouldn't scare him. He could easily be value 3betting AK or worse here since so many party monkeys will take your line with hands AK has crushed. Call down. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yea but he is a solid player so he likely knows that I am pretty tight since he should have info on me as well. His three-bets defined his hand pretty well. |

Re: Trips in Trouble
Given your read of the villian, I really dislike your line here.
His 3 bet means AA, KK, AK, or AQ. Given that you have a K and a Q the likelyhood of AA goes up. Now, when you checkraise, you get nothing out of KK and likely nothing out of A,K. However, you are now paying off AA and A,Q. Check call the turn and the river. I see nothing wrong with folding to the 3 bet - given that your read is accurate. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ok I guess you mean AJ,KQ,JJ,TT,99,88,77. Except for KQ, you think a good player would 3-bet these hands on this turn? |

Re: Trips in Trouble
Maybe. However, it doesnt really matter because all those other hands can be discarded here (e.g., JJ). Tell me what other raising hand do you make money on with the turn checkraise.
