Default Casino Accounting Job / General Casino Jobs - Questions

I know there are a few casino employees on here, so hopefully I can get some insight.

I am going to be finishing my degree (god willing) in January and am considering career options. I have worked jobs where I sit at a desk all day, and I'm not thrilled by the prospect of being a 9-5 desk jockey.

My last job was in retail Cash Management and Loss Prevention, and I loved it. I love the action. Holiday time, when the store is bustling with people and I have to handle $100's of thousands of dollars in cash, while maintaining schedules, crowds of people, and stuff like that is my favorite time to be working.

Also, I don't want to sound pretentious, but I am very good at it. My cash handling skills are expert after years of experience. I can spot a fake bill with a 2 second glance and can observe a bank of 10 cashiers at once and tell if anything fishy is happening with any one of them right away. I also have a lot of experience dealing with armored carrier services and business banking.

My Business strategy professor used to be an executive with a gaming company that operates a casino in Atlantic City and used to operate some in Vegas, but I think sold all their properties there. I don't want to name it here, but if you want to PM me I'll tell you.

She is still friendly with the CEO and managment of the casino and is willing to give me a recommendation to work in Casino Accounting, which she says is close to the cash managment I used to do. From what she says it is a salaried position with benefits and once I receive my gaming license I would be able to work shifts as a floorperson for big events for extra cash.

What are your thoughts on working Casino accounting and working in a casino in general??
