The Borgata has 1, 2 NL and 2, 5 NL tables. The 1, 2 is $60.00 min buy in and $300 max. The 2, 5 is 100 and 500. They also have thurs and fri tourneys.

I hovered over that game very briefly this weekend, just to check it out. Am I correct in it being a no max buy-in?

yes, I believe there is a 700 minimum buyin. most big bet games at the red chip level and above have no maximum buyin. they are simply unecessary and pointless.

have you played in it? generally, how tough is it? the 2/5 was incredibly soft, does the PL have a lot better players?

I have played in it some, it is sometimes really soft and sometimes really tough and mostly probably in between. there are some very very tough players and some weak ones, and it is going to play much much bigger than the 2/5. since the open raise is 40 straight it plays like a 10-10 game really.

I am sure the 2-5 is a better game, but if you like to play higher/deeper the 5-10 is the only way to fly, at least in AC.

I was at the table next to the PL game on Friday night. I was afraid some of the stacks were going to topple over and crush me so I would have to guess that there's no max buy-in.

The 5-10 PL at Borgata was $500 minimum buy-in/no max when I played in it last month. A couple of the players had 10k or more at the table. I was there on a Sunday evening so it wasn't full, we were 5- or 6-handed for the 5 or so hours I played. It seemed to me that one or two of my opponents that night were simply very wealthy, and did not mind calling large bets with marginal hands. One gentleman I chatted with who plays it every weekend told me it's usually a very good game for the reason I observed.
