Default Stephan: Thread Display Suggestions

[ QUOTE ]
Btw, I replied to his post because I never got used to the way this forum works. I never know what the last post is because they aren't listed in order. It's so confusing, so I try to respond to the last post to put mine at the bottom. It drives me nuts when I Clear History on IE and then I see all the posts are highlighted blue (meaning I haven't read them). It's impossible to know which ones were read, so I hate the structure.

Hi Stephan,

Here are the Display Preferences I use, and this lets me know what is new in any thread even after clearing by browser's cache, and lets me respond directly to any post I am viewing.

To adjust your display prefrences, log in and go to My Home.

Select the "edit" option for Display Preferences, etc.

It will take you to a page where the first few options are self-explanatory, such as time/date, TwoPlusTwo Skin, etc.

Next, do options using the following choices (in order, going down the list):

-Show All Threads

-Descending Date

-Threaded Mode

-Collapsed Threads

-Total Parent Posts per Page: 60

-Total Posts on one page in Flat: 90

-Text Area Columns: 60

-Text Area Rows: 30

These choices will cause the server to remember where you left off on each visit, and increase readability. New responses in threads you have visited (whilst logged in) will be ennumerated and show in a different shade or color.

Try this and see if it helps.

P.S.: Also, when logging in, select "remember me on each visit".
