spray some bug spray on it and let it sit there for a few weeks until it disintegrates like i do.

I'm pretty spider tolerant, but you have to factor the good and bad.
Good: Eats flys and other unpleasant bugs.
Bad: spider webs in your place. Yuck factor if spiders bother you.
