Trying a bluff, live 2-5
Ok UTG limps (320)
bad LAG raises to 20 (250ish) bad LAG2 calls 20 (400ish) LP calls 20 on button (200ish) I call in the BB with 97[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (have everyone covered) UTG calls Flop 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] pot is 100. I check. UTG bets 20, which is sort of a feeler bet, he has a weakish hand. Maybe a pair on the board. LAG1 and 2 call, which means they have two cards, but nothing worth raising. LP folds. I CR all-in. |

Re: Trying a bluff, live 2-5
What's your image?
I say meh, either way with three players in the pot, a bettor and two bad LAGs. If anyone has anything, you are drawing very thin. Too many reasons not to IMO. |

Re: Trying a bluff, live 2-5
My image is very tight and aggressive. I've been pretty card dead. I think I've played 2 pots in the past hour.
The guy only bet 20 into a 100 pot. If any of the LAGs had a pair, they would've raised. They have overcards here. |

Re: Trying a bluff, live 2-5
Even with your image I would still want a better hand and no bad LAG's to try your bluff. Sounds like you know UTG, but his small bet could indicate he wants the LAG's to come along while building the pot.

Re: Trying a bluff, live 2-5
I dont like it. If players calling raise "have any two" this is bad. Wait for hands and just outplay them.
If you're going to raise, raise less. True donks love to call the all-in raise because 1. its exciting 2. no more decisions 3. they know there better off when not making decisions |

Re: Trying a bluff, live 2-5
I'm normally all about LAGgy play, but I think this is bad in the long run simply due to pot odds - you're risking 400 to win 160 (assuming getting called with a gutshot draw is not your goal), which means you have to win this 2 out of 5 just to break even. Will you win this that often with 3 other bad players in the pot? Unlikely.
Much as it may pain you, they ARE giving you absolutely awesome odds to draw, so utter a quick thank you and just call. You will have two more streets to outplay them. Kirk |

Results
UTG called with A3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the rest folded. I lost the hand, but it did wonders for my image. I started going all-in with strong hands and getting called.
Looks like a broke a cardinal rule and tried to bluff bad players. Thanks guys. |

This is like trying to get the ultra hot chick at the party.
You barely ever get the hot chick because you have so much competition, and when you do get the hot chick the sex usually isnt that good. |
