Default Wrist pain

Going to the doc on Tuesday for it. What should I expect?

FWIW I use a trackball mouse, and it is at (what I've heard anyway) the 'correct' position: Arm not extedned, elbow at 90 degrees.

You also have to make sure your arm to your elbow is supported, or else you're just bending your wrist constantly (and that's where the pain comes from).

I use a chair with an arm rest, but my desk is too high, so I use a pillow to extend the arm rest up. Makes for a real comfortable position.

I actually have a "TV Tray" folding table type thing that I use as a mouse desk, so my entire forearm is supported. My writs is popping and cracking like a 90 year old's knees in the morning. Is this a symptom of carpal tunnel?

Repetitive wrist pain is generally caused by excessive flexion/extension of the fingers and the wrist, but in your case it is the flexors. Be sure to stretch your fingers and wrist about every hour that you are on the computer. 10 secs x 5 is enough.

It's important to stretch it out, because if your wrist/finger flexors are tight they can cause impingement to the median nerve that runs together with your flexors under the carpal tunnel. If it gets bad enough you might require surgery to relieve that pressure off that nerve.

If theres any numbness he'll refer you to a neurologist. Theres a nerve conduction test they perform by injecting needles into certain points and running a curtrent through them.

I use a logitech Dual Action gamepad, and this AutoHotKey script for my pokerstars games, easy to modify for other sites and screen resolutions. Main buttons for fold, call, bet, blinds, 4 buttons to select different windows, and 2 buttons to alt-tab thru apps. Pretty cool playing the poker "video" game like on a PS/2 and much less wear on the wrists.

Good luck... BB

Since I began using a Logitech Trackman resting on a pillow, the slight pain and fatigue I used to feel in my hand and wrist has totally dispersed.

Hope your condition isn't too bad.
