Flatscreen TV advice

I'm looking into purchasing a Flat screen TV and know at the most nothing about them. 22-28 inches would be about the right size I think. But anyways... where are the best places to look for TVs. Should I buy on the net or Brick and mortor? ALso are there any places such as gottadeal.com that offer discounts on TVs? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
