6 versus CLE (10-3) and 7 versus MIN (6-5). Plus 4 at DET (12-3).

I'm not worried about the opponents at all -- I'm worried about the way they've been playing. They're playing like Jerry Manuel is still managing.

I wouldn't put too much into less than 15 games against a single team in terms of splits. CLE, MIN, and DET are all at least decent teams; if you're not beating KC it's likely that you'll have trouble with these three teams. I guess my point is that for as poorly as the White Sox are playing, if they were playing some sorry teams they would still be able to pick up the division title pretty easily. Not necessarily the case with these three teams (particularly MIN & CLE whom the Sox have 13 against).

They're playing awful lately. If they don't turn it around, they're in trouble. If they closer to thier capability, they shoudl have no problem taking enough games from these teams to win the division.

That said, as a lifelong Sox fan, I'm very worried.

Lets look at Clevelands scheldule. 7 games versus Kansas City, 6 Games versus the Sox, and 3 games versus Tampa Bay. Cleveland WILL make the playoffs.

With 6 games left still against the indians its possible.

cleveland is 5 back in the loss column. the white sox magic number is 4.5. surely they can get 5 chicago wins/cleveland losses combined.

the division is all but wrapped up.

Um, the White Sox magic number is 13. They've been tanking for a while and the division is still very much up for grabs.

theyre not going to lose it. the division is pretty much wrapped up, if chicago wins even 2 out of 6 games with cleveland its over. they can end it in one series, this is one or two games away from being completely over.

Ugh, I wish I had the same confidence. I honestly think it's a lot closer than you think. Especially if we lose today. The thought of 2.5 ... *shudder*

Still 3.5 baby. At least we know Cleveland can't leave Wednesday with the division lead!
