Default Play of the year? (Kirill Gerasimov in the WSOP NL Shootout)

Wow. I couldn't make that call in a play money tournament while drunk. Calling an all in with nothing but 10 high in that situation. Crazy.

Title: Kirill Gerasimov Makes an Amazing Call
Log: Kirill Gerasimov was heads up with an unknown player at table 146. Both players had approximately even stacks of $7500, with Gerasimov having a slight edge. The board was Ah-Kh-Jx-X-X with about $2000 in the pot. Gerasimov checked and mistakenly heard the unknown player say "check," causing Gerasimov to prematurely flip over his missed flush draw of 10h-6h. The unknown player announced that he never said "check," the floor was called over, and the ruling was that the unknown player should have had an opportunity to act. The unkown player moved all in, and unbelievably Gerasimov called with 10 high. The unknown player says good call, flips over his 7-2 and Kirill Gerasimov wins the table. Imagine if he called and lost, that would have been the funniest thing ever and everyone would laugh at him for the rest of his life.

Apparently being drunk shifts you up or down one level of thinking to make this a good play.

On this board, you either have a monster hand or nothing if you are bitching about not saying check... this said, a monster wouldnt even bother to dick around with it once he sees ten high, the only hand that would push this river seeing T high would be a queen or a terrible bluff

Default Big ones by KG

Why else would the unknown guy call the director over and insist on being able to bet vs a busted draw then go all-in? I think a bet of 500-1000 into a 2000 pot would have made KG fold.

At what % likelihood of a stone bluff do you call all-in?

what kind of an ass calls a tourney director. what kind of an ass stays with 7 2 till the river in a 2k pot. At least kirill had a flush draw. Some good thinking there by Kirill.

If he could beat 10-hi, he would not have made any fuss over this hand. If this was a ploy to get Kirill to call, surely he didn't expect him to call with 10-hi.
