Default Times On Base

Here are the ten major league batters who have been on base more than 2,500 times in the last ten years:

Barry Bonds 2746
Alex Rodriguez 2676
Derek Jeter 2672
Jeff Bagwell 2669
Gary Sheffield 2636
Chipper Jones 2619
Manny Ramirez 2593
Jason Giambi 2540
Carlos Delgado 2530
Craig Biggio 2527

I guess Delgado is the most lightly regarded player of the group, probably becauase of lack of post-season exposure.

Bagwell's a big shocker to me with his steady decline the past few seasons.

He still had solid years in 2003 and 2004, on base 262 times in 2003, and 256 times in 2004. Scored over 100 runs both seasons, hitting 66 home runs in the two years. it was only this year that he didn't play many games.
