4 left, 3 spots pay, 2 Jacks, and 1 guy is sitting out
Stars 15 Turbo
Chip Counts are before posting Big Stack 1 (5760) SB Passed Out (1025) BB (Sitting out, has been for 15 minutes) Big Stack 2 (5845) UTG Hero (870) Button I've stolen the guy sitting out's blinds 3 of the last 5 times, as the big stacks have apparently been slow to pick up on his absence. He's gone and apparently not coming back. I'm fairly certain I can sneak into third by adjusting my rate of play. Blinds 100/200 Hero has red jacks Big stack UTG raises to 600 |

Gotta push it. Even if the guy has gone disco, he may still survive 1 or 2 forced all-ins. Auto-push.

[/ QUOTE ] Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I thought stars did some queer crap like fold your hand if you were sitting out, even if it was the last of your chips. Or is that just when you post the last of your chips as an ante? |

I believe you're right.. if a player is sitting out, and is all-in for less than his blind, he still folds when the action comes around to him.

OK, I didn't know that. Hmmm, I see your dilema. I would still push it though, it's just my nature and you'll probably have to win 1 hand anyway because the blinds are catching you first...so why not this one?

Re: 4 left, 3 spots pay, 2 Jacks, and 1 guy is sitting out
So does that change things? Or is it simply a push?
I was considering at the time that the additional chips weren't worth much, since they still put me solidly in third. And since I felt I could weave into third, I had a hard time convincing myself to take a 30% chance at busting for some near worthless chips. |

Re: 4 left, 3 spots pay, 2 Jacks, and 1 guy is sitting out
Id let them go...all you need to do is survive one BB or steal one set of blinds to get third. You are so far behind the other two you might as well just play for the small profit and then try to get amazingly lucky.

[/ QUOTE ] I am a big advocate of luckbox maintenance. I guess I could have been more clear...go ahead and limp to 3rd and with so few chips left that you will probably need to double up on three straight random hands just to survive. You better have the new Luckbox Nimbus 3000 (maybe I should start selling thos online). |
