Default Sheik

Wow, the Sheik guy is a real...uh...nice guy. But his pounding the table in disgust when he was out of the hand was IMO...a little out-of-line (can I say that?). And he seemed...a bit impolite (geez, I really feel like I'm pushing the envelope here).

But what was the shoving between SS and MM that was shown during a collage of clips (more than once) but not shown during the actual show (unless I missed it)?

They were joking around for the entertainment of the fans. Its good to see two players that clearly hate one another can still put on a show.

Thanks. What about after Sheik busted? It almost looks like he was told to leave and was escorted out.

Nah. I'm sure there's post tournament stuff to do. He asked if he "was done here", then walked out. Maybe to sign some stuff or something.

Did anyone else assume that this is the "Persian Shawn" that played heads-up PLHE vs. Negreanu a few months ago? Or has this already been established?

I don't know why they didn't show the shoving match. But it's clear they had decided in editing that the Sheik would be the bad guy and played it up.

In the infamous Tiffany Williamson hand, where she was extremely rude, Norman Chad actually admonished the Sheik for politely telling Tiffany she couldn't consult her poker coach during the hand. I think Norman added his negative comments to that episode as foreshadowing Sheik's future behavior, because he was okay until then.

I'm NOT saying this guy was a nice guy, I think he crossed the line a few times (esp. during Matusows hand). But ESPN used that to single him out as a villian from his first innocuous appearance.

That wasnt him who played DN.

ESPN didnt show this but it was classic. Shiek was sitting on the outer table near the TV table on day2 or 3 and Shiek yells to mike "mouth why are so quiet over there" mike responed asking shiek if he even knew how to play no-limit.(which is a fair question because all the shiek really plays is the mixed game at bellagio and close to none no-limit.) Shiek then said " Mike do you know how to play spades." Mike didnt say anything else. ESPn also doesnt tell people that they have known each other for awhile.

shawn sheikhan played in the "high stakes poker" show that's supposed to be on gsn so he probably plays pretty high limits. so, this could be the same guy.
