Default Re: What I bet

[ QUOTE ]
I took a line very similar to JustToast's over aggressive style. I figured that this was the perfect place for a semi-bluff, although I agree it was possible that I had best hand. I was basically 50/50 with AK, AQ, etc, and way ahead of all pocket pairs except 22 and 88.

You don't want to totally discourage action and betting 4x pot is definately discouraging it. Just pot the flop if you want him to know you're serious and get it in afterwards if that's your intention.

Bet 3/bet. Overbet isnt good as it allows him to get away from a lot of holdings. Ditto on the fold preflop.

Check the flop. Reraise all in if he bets. He might slowplay AA and give you a free card. He might hold suited cards too. If he does not put you on a A he will bet and call anyway. If he strongly suspects you to hold an A you win a little more money. He might fold AK to the "obvious" set.

This the hand you where looking for when you called villians raise. Play it

Chris.
