Default Two tournies to remember (no content)

I'm just starting to learn sng play, and I'm trying to follow the guide. Playing 5/1's at Party. (I know, the vig is awful. I'll move up to 10/1 as soon as I am convinced I'm a winning player.)

First tournament I pick up AA the very first hand, and manage to get all-in against JJ after a flop of 79T rainbow. Of course, I am out in record time when an 8 falls.

Several uneventful tournies later, I go from t800 to t100 without winning a pot. (In fact, without seeing a flop except from the blinds.) Now I go all-in and catch a freak flush. The deck starts hitting me hard, and I eventually win the event. I know it's nowhere near a record, but I am encouraged that I was able to keep focussed after about 35 straight hands of pure junk. (KQo UTG was the best I saw.)

Sorry to bore you; I was struck by the contrast between these two events.

I love this game.
