Well played.

What are you doing if the 9 on the flop was a 5 instead?

i'd play it the same. Against some donk/aggro limp-reraisors i'd raise the flop. Definitely not against this one though.

what happens if we raise flop..?

We get 3-bet every time he has a better hand and a few times he'll bluff 3-bet aswell but not often. we call and fold turn UI..? this saves one BB but we don't get to see river and we don't get to showdown.

It's just that I can see that many hands this guy 3-bets with a 3% pfr over 480 hands.

I like the line but how bad is this one.

The way I see it, there's a 50% chance of a better hand, and 50% chance of a worse hand.

Either way, he's betting into us, so by calling we'll pick up the most money whilst getting to a showdown.

Why go to war?

I don't think this is 50/50 this player have only raised 3% preflop over 480 hands and now he is 3-beting us. Which top 3 hands do we beat besides AKo and AKs. this guy is not 3-betting AQ here..

So I give us 30-40% of having the current best hand with villian having some outs.

But theres definately good reason not to go to war since if we raise then villian might call flop and raise the turn enabling us to make a bigger mistake if we don't fold there.

Ive seen tight pfr players do this with 44 and crap like that before.

A guy in small stakes did a study on LRR using people databases, found that 50% it was a premium, 50% it was not (usually a small pocket). People do weird plays.
