I grew up there and I completely disagree with most of the thinking that comes out of there. But seriously....if the world will come to an end if they allow a lottery and card games...why fill a casino with slot machines. At least be consistent against gambling.

But those slot machines legally have to require skill. LOL.

Seriously, though, if you want to do something to help Cherokee, NC get poker, then contact the governor's office. Let them know a few reasons why they should allow poker.

That building may have slot machines in it now, but Harrahs would love to bring cards to that casino, and I'm sure the negotiations continue.

We'll get it eventually.

In reading up on this issue, I found that it looks like the Cherokee could conceivably offer poker under Class II gaming regulations (as cover bingo), without NC approval, but it couldn't be part of the Harrah's casino? For it to be attached to that operation, it's subject to the state agreement the casino operates under.
