Re: Serious Question: Sunglasses advice!
Large,
Ever since Moneymaker won the WSOP it appears Oakley wraparounds have become the shades of choice. Most of the struggling pro's in AC wear the knock off Oakleys. I wear normal glasses, so I have to use the same type of glasses that people who have cateract surgery wear. I place them over my glasses. I look pretty intimidating with my blinders on. |

Re: Serious Question: Sunglasses advice!
First off, don't use anything with red lenses! It's very hard to tell hearts from diamonds, especially if your eyesight is not that good.
I recommend if the room is not that bright to use lightly tinted lenses. You can use the frames and what darkness there is of the lense to conceal what you are doing with your eyes well enough. Also, who cares what brands the pros prefer. I prefer cheap sunglasses, because if you lose or break them, they are easily replaced. al |

Never mind you Klingon not Vulcan.
I get confused easily. Kind of like Alien VS Predator or Terminator vs Robocop. It all confuses me. |

Don't forget Howard Lederer, Layne Flack and TJ Cloutier. [/ QUOTE ] By golly, I think you're on to something. I just noticed that Dewey Tomko, Erik Seidel, Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negraneau, John Juanda, Barry Greenstein, Men the Master Nguyen, Carlos Mortenson, Dan Harrington, Mel Judah, Julian Gardner, Andy Block and Ron Rose don't wear sunglasses either. How the hell do these guys ever win? |

Re: Serious Question: Sunglasses advice!
I always think it's kinda sad when people think that a Chris Moneymaker outfit will somehow make them a better poker player.

Re: Serious Question: Sunglasses advice!
Wow, I must have hit a nerve, thanks for all of the response guys.
prairieboy hit the nail on the head. Sunglasses are a pretty negligible factor at this point in my development. Hell, at our tournament, we were ALL just a bunch of fish flopping around. I doubt a single legitimate read was made all evening. Luckily, I have enough online experience to know some poker fundamentals. I would say 80% of the guys had an alcoholic drink in their cupholder. Although, we were just playing for T-shirts and Ball caps. But, it was quite a rush for me to feel some real felt. I gotta get a felt mouse pad for playing poker online! My main reason for testing the waters with sunglasses is the simple idea that "looking good is feeling good". If I feel good, I'll play better, etc. With everything else equal, I think sunglasses might just give a little psychological edge. But if not, at least I look cool. As for the rest of my attire, I was very comfortable in Blue Jeans, Skateboarder shoes, and a nice Fleece sweatshirt. Ahhhh, Fleece. Peace, --Cents |

Helmuth wears sunglasses though. And I think we all wish we could be like Helmuth.
