Default 8-tabling will ruin me. (lc)

Playing so many tables totally stalls any evolution of my game as I found out today. I've next to no notes, no idea how to play some hands and no time to think about how I should be playing the hands I'm in other than resorting to programmed responses to common situations (bet tptk, check-fold when the flush comes and there are 3 others in the pot etc). Then there's the pot odds and implied odds calculations which are woefully inaccurate because of the pressure I'm under to take care of other hands on other tables.

And when I get in tricky situations I'm at a loss what to do, can't adapt to the opponent, and play shite. Any problems and I go into my weak-tight shell and end up folding far too often. Twice I got spanked by a player calling the flop then potting the turn when I think I had the best hand but had no plan of action and screwed up.

I use my cont.bets in the wrong spots, check behind in the wrong spots. It's as if all my decisions are randomised by how I feel each time they come around.

So my plan of 8 tabling my way to 15k hands a week is a no go now. It's all to fast, too stressful, and I play too bad.

Is it sane to play 3 fullring and 2 shorthand tables or does the difference in styles required for 10 handed and 6 handed make this too difficult?

Back to the drawing board for me. The days of Harringtonesque rockness are gone. I'd love to bully my way around like Gus Hansen, making my opponents sweat my bets when I could have air, nuts or a decent draw, but I'm never going to get there playing autopilot all day.
