Need help with the JJs
I've been reading HOHE, trying to pick incorporate it into my play. After the first limper comes in, is my best scenario with the JJ to push instead of making a typical 3BB raise. It didn't seem in retrospect big enough to isolate me with the limper; the Big Blind who had me well covered was getting 2.5 to 1 to call. The other option of a bigger raise (say 5BB) would cost me half my stack and pot commit me after the flop given how crippled I would be at this stage of the tourney.
So, a push here? A limp call? Or was the play okay? Re: Need help with the JJs
With a limper, I'll generally raise to 4BB instead of 3BB. That said, since you only have 10BB to start, just push. You'll pick up 2.5BB, which is 25% of your stack. Not too shabby. Either that, or double up, which is nice too.
