Default Bad Beat Jackpot?

I see I can play this on PP and I hear some people mention it on here.

What exactly is it?

If you lose with a really good hand, it is considered a bad beat and you win a jackpot. On party poker, you have to have Aces full of Kings, you have to use both cards in your hand, you have to lose the hand, and your opponent has to use both cards in his/her hand. The loser gets 50% of the jackpot, the winner gets 25% and the remaining 25% is split amongst anyone who was dealt cards in that hand. I also saw some nonsense about 10% being taken by party poker for administrative fees, and 10% being saved for the next jackpot, so you are really only dividing up 80% of the jackpot, unless they changed it again (they have been changing the rules a lot).

If PP takes an extra rake on these tables it would not be in the favor of the decent player only the A-x fish.

Opinions?

some of the tables are no-foldem types - very loose on turn. so, if you do proper game selection, I think the additional rake is no serious concern.

I think it is completely dependent on how big the jackpot is. There is no reason for a good player to contribute a couple bux an hour for a very slim chance at 5,000 dollars. However a slim chance at 40,000 dollars is a different story. Last I checked the jackpot is in the 21,000 range, meaning the loser gets about 10 grand, not too shabby but I still don't know if its worth the extra contribution.

But for the record, I don't think I have qualified for the jackpot in ANY of my hands played, ever.

Even if the games are very very lose, you have to play at least 1/2 or 2/4 I think. At the moment I only have the bankroll for 0.50/1, and 0.75$ rake in a 5$ pot is nearly unbeatable I think.
