1) Soft Cell, "Tainted Love"

2) "Touch myself" (Don't remember the artist)

3) New Bohemians, "What I am"

4) Smokey and the Bandit soundtrack, song goes "East bound and down, loaded up and trucking, we gonna do what they say can't be done..."

[/ QUOTE ]

Awesome set of songs.
Touch Myself is by the Divinyls.
I totally mark out for the East Bound and Down song, and for the entirety of Smokey and the Bandit.

Africa by Toto.

[/ QUOTE ]

That is one of the more awful songs of all time. I think we have a winner.

When the guy sings EHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHfrica, it's so bad and so completely comes from his nose that it's almost the definition of unlistenable and I find it impossible not to cringe.

It makes me laugh like hearing Ringo hit the weirdest note when he sings, "In the TOWN, where I was born."

[/ QUOTE ]

uh ok. Your posts are usually pretty good Blarg, but you're way off on this one. Africa is a great song

Euro and I are totally together on this thread.

I can't believe how many people like that song. I've never met anyone who liked it before, and it looks like I've stumbled right into the middle of the fan club. I hope you guys don't boil me and eat me.

[/ QUOTE ]

No boiling. You're going on a spit. Slow roasted goodness.

I'm really sad that I missed the Gummi Bears sing-along.

Oh, my answer is Skater Boy. That album was playing a lot when I first got to college so those songs are intertwined with some pretty kickass memories.

I am not embarassed to say me! Everyone likes Rico Suave!

I worked on Gerardo's tour that year. "Rico Suave" is a fun song; just don't admit to liking his other songs.

I kind of like Avril Lavigne, but I feel sorry for you if her songs are what you associate with your first "kickass" college memories.

Freshman week, we were cranking (early) Van Halen, Guns N Roses, and Public Enemy while destroying our dorm and getting laid.

I'm never embarrased by what I like, but I take [censored] for liking Ashlee Simpson.

To recap:
OP asked for songs you are embarrassed to like.
Almost everyone listed great songs by crappy bands.

Moral: Just because an artists sucks, doesn't mean they didn't release at least one kick ass song.
