Yeah - the 5+0.50's give you 3 FPP's and the 10+1's give you 5.

So for FPP value the 5+0.50's are actually best.

I'm not in it to clear the FPP's though.

I play mostly $11 and $22 rebuy satellite tourneys.

It's not a bad deal though. In the SNG's and MTT's you are essentially getting to play rake-free (or close to it).
When you play the 10+1 for 5 fpp's you are clearing $1 worth of the bonus. So your 10+1 essentially becomes a 10+0.

If you play the 5+0.50's for 3 fpp's (for 60 cents) you are actually 'beating' the rake.
Instead of playing a 5 + 0.50 you are kind of playing a 5 - 0.10.

(if this stuff is incorrect someone can chime in and correct me).

Obviously the bonus would take a long time to clear just playing 5+0.50's though. But I'm not complaining. On most sites your only option for clearing the bonus is raked-hands on cash games.

I clear the bonus playing mostly satellites too (just building up my T$). You are correct that the tournaments are completely rake free when working off a bonus (with the exception of the $5 + $.50 where you are actually beating the rake).

Occassionally I'll take a shot in the $200 + $15 as well, which you get 75 points for, making it a $200 + $0 tourney, although I have yet to cash in that tourney.

party> stars, for me right now. i'll stick with the simpler tables, datamining and rakeback.

This is a joke right?

Go to pokertracker forums. There is a program called Starspy that will allow you to datamine up to 40 pokerstars tables at once (depending on memory -- I have 768 megs and can datamind 48 tables) -- its a program that captures the tables (it hides them, essentially closing them but tracking the hands still) --

Seriously, I like stars, I get rakeback on my othersites, but I like Stars software much better and the fact that I can datamine the hell out of it is a plus. (Yesterday, I left my computer running w/ starspy and it ended up capturing over 20,000 hand histories. Pretty insane. Ive been letting it do this for over 3 weeks now.)

I did a search but couldn't find anything. Are there any PokerStars skins out there? Preferrably something with a simple black background would be great.

Thanks in advance.

But you'd have to be playing many small tournaments to make it worthwhile shouldn't you?

Example: If I wanted to get the $120 with minimum risk of losing any of my money, what tourneys should I play?

Cheers,
SDM

I just cleared a couple of bonii playing 10+1 SNG's there. Rakefree tourneys are good. This time I might try the 22s.

So for a 10+1 you only get 1 FPP right?

No, you get 5 FPP for each $11 SnG. It'll take 120 of these to clear the bonus.

120 SNG'S or 120 FPPs total? (120 SNG's cost $1300-ish!)
