Default open letter to pacific poker

[I stayed away from Pacific for a while. went back recently to try them out again.]

hand #xxxxxxx
acct: xxxxxxx

Dear President of Pacific Poker
This is the third time in about as many weeks that your crap
system has folded aces or ace-king for me when I hit the raise
button, the button clicked, and the button disappeared and
yet never acted--all the while, playing on other various other
sites simultaneously without the slightest hitch. That's about
$xxx in expected value you have cost me. I really would like to
know why Pacific has persisited for over a year with the worst
software and infrastructure/connectivity on the net. Just how
little do you value your business and your customers? someone
please explain. I am running 1 gigabyte of RAM on a premium high
speed cable modem package. I never hvae problems with any other
poker site or any continuous streaming for that matter. Only
Pacific. You guys are the absolute worst. And you make no
effort to improve. It is outrageous. Do you intend to ruin
your business for some reason? Are you trying to make poker players
hate poker? Do you actually work for some kind of extremist
religious anti-poker group?

------------------------------------------------

I thought of trying the non-download java version on the webpage. anyone know if it's better? I assume handgrabber doesn't work on it?

pacific has a related casino. i doubt they are worried about losing business. they are one of the few sites that allow only one table. also, there have been several posters stating that if you become a winning player, i.e. cashout alot, then they stop giving you that crappy convert points into cash thing.

my solution, will never play there again until things change.

The probability of getting an answer might increase if you do not insult them that much in your mail.

That being said, I completely agree with you, and am baffled by the incompetence of the people who run the site. It's quite incredible.

fair point (uninstalling). but I'm far from down money there. that's why it's so torturing. and you may ask why I'm still on this horse after all this time. well one of the reasons I recently doubled my RAM was that it might help with pacific. so I had built up hope for things to get better. I don't know what it it is about their programming, but that client annihilates my system resources. somehow they've really misconceived their design and I don't get why they can't figure out how to improve it. I know my letter is very negative, but I tried to distinguish between saying 'your system is horrible' and 'you guys personally are stupid' (I should re-read it...). I was very annoyed at the time, obviously--I hope I don't annoy them enough that I might have a problem cashing out.

The 15/30 games are about equivalent to Party 2/4.

The absolute most retarded thing about Pacific's software is that when you hit any key on the keyboard when it is your turn to act it will call or raise your hand. So if you are typing in the chat box and hit the enter key when the action gets to you, you just raised that 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Or you hit the space bar and all of a sudden you have called 3 cold with 38 offsuit. Most idiotic thing I have ever witnessed.

That happened to me on the bubble of a $5 MTT with KK. It was folded, and I was blinded out 2 hands later out of the money. I emailed and all I wanted was my $5 back, but they refused, saying that after reviewing the hand history, I would have lost the hand anyway (guy with 10-10 rivered another 10). The way I understand poker software to work, is that the cards are random as they are dealt, and hence waiting 1 nanosecond later (or me being in the hand) would have resulted in a different board being dealt, and perhaps me winning. Of course the lowly tech support people have no clue, and simply refused to refund me FIVE BUCKS

I cashed out the next day and haven't been back.

It's not the money, it's the principle.
