Default Somewhat paranoid to join Pacific Poker: Should I, or shouldn\'t I?

Hello all, I've read that quite a few people in this forum have had bad experiences with Pacific. Because of this, I've found myself somewhat reluctant to even throw 50 dollars into an account. I am enticed by the supposed juicy play though. I am just being paranoid? Convince me one way or the other please. Thanks in advance for the help. 'Stosh

I'd do it, just to clear the bonuses. You can play the one table at pacific while playing your normal site for the other tables (assuming you multi-table). I never had major software issues with them, some games are just slow, but that comes with fishy games in general.

It's a very buggy piece of software. But the thinking of many players on the site is also buggy, so it evens out.

If you are worried about your money in pacific, you have nothing to worry about(except for slooooww cashout time). I have had little trouble with the software.... kicked off every once in awhile. I would not play in any multi-table tournies though b/c of the possibliity of the software freezing you out..not that big of deal though at the small stakes tables; the fish more than make up for it.

I opened an acct on pacific just to get a nice free chipset. The software is lousy, no NL/PL ring, and only one table at a time. I've had no cashier issues, but other than onetabling against some poor HE players there are many other sites I'd join first.

Most of the free stuff comes from PokerSourceOnline (i.e. PSO).

I have not played on Pacific for a month or two, but I believe I heard that they added NL and PL Games.

I would for sure NOT play pot limit or no limit on Pacific. The collusion there would be brutal in these games. If you happen to spot the collusion for them they will just confiscate the colluders money and add it to their bottom line. If you do play Pacific, play lower limits than normal, watch closely for cheaters, and do not play pot limit or no limit.

Thank you,

Jim Kuhn

good advice, Jim

also, expect that if some software glitch or other affects you adversely in the middle of a hand then you have lost the money in question

plus, there is a special kind of tilt that can affect you because of the slow speed of the games - crawling up the walls can be the result
