Default Maximizing the nuts

Playing 2-4 nl on Prima. Tighish player opens for 18. 1 caller to me. I've decided to play a little less TAG and a little more LAG so I call on button with the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I have 350 and everyone has me covered.

60 in pot. Flop comes K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

He bets 40, I min raise to 80. He calls. Could have a set, AA or maybe AK, but I doubt this becauase he would almost need the k A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] which I have.

Turn is A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. He checks, there is 220 in pot. I push for 200. Thoughts..

Actually you have the nut flush. If he has a set, which you think is highly likely, then you can not give a free card when that card can beat you by pairing the board. I don't see another good option. Since you're short stacked it looks more like a reasonable bet.

I dont like the flop minraise..make a real raise...100+..then push turn.

I like a check on the turn to induce a bluff/perceived value bet from villain on river.

Checking the turn is the WORST PLAY POSSIBLE, I agree, reraise $40 to $100, then push turn, won't be quite as much compared to the pot then

Mini-raising that flop screams 'I HAVE A FLUSH LET ME MILK IT JUST A BIT MORE'.

Just an aside on your min-raise. Ever since Gomberg's post I've been noting min-raises by each player in attempt to see if each player has a pattern and what a min-raise means to them. Be sure to mix up your min-raises. I'm not the only 2+2'er taking Gomberg's advice.

when your shortstacked, pushing the flop isn't too bad, half the time they'll think you have the loan A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and call with TP
