There were two things which struck me about Wynn's room.

1. It was very long and not very deep (think rectangular shaped). Therefore, it had a long rail which allowed people outside the room to observe lots of tables. I'd say this is a good thing.

2. The room was very poorly located. It actually felt like I was walking just outside of the casino floor in order to get to it. I didn't check to see where the hallway along the poker room leads to. So, I'm not sure what kind of foot traffic will be going by. But, compared to the Mirage's poker room, which is fairly close to the Strip entrance, or the MGM Grand's room, which you almost walk into form the Strip entrance, Wynn's location is severely lacking.

Word I had weeks ago, was that the management was NOT poker savvy, so far this seems to be true, this ultimately results in a sub par room, especially here considering all the hype and expectations for the place in general, in my opinion.

Now if only the IP regularly spread 20/40, huh?

Deb ran a high class ship even over here at Canterbury (not elegance, but great dealers/$2 chips for middle limit games/no dealer abuse

Should take what we have in MN up to another level - I'm jealous.

This is what people were saying about the Borgata Poker room when it first opened. Now you have to wait 5 hours to get into a game.

I agree in theory, but disagree in my own personal view of the universe. I love the location because it's real close to the parking garage.

I know what you mean about feeling like you walked outside of the casino floor. It does feel that way. But, I dont mind. And, in fact, I think the location is very good. You should have continued down the hallway -- it leads to the Ferrari dealership! Talk about foot traffic. That Ferrari dealership is going to attract a lot of lookers.

Hi Dynasty:

Location to a poker room is probably not as important as it use to be.

Good location meant lots of drop-ins, which meant the games would be good. Today, with so many new players and more new ones being created everyday, the need for "spur of the moment" drop-ins is not as important as it once was.

But I do agree that the location could have been better even though it shouldn't matter as much as it once did.

Best wishes,
Mason

Will be in town next week - Wynns is located on the old DI plot across from the Frontier??

Also, best way into the parking garage - strip or back street?

I have not been yet, but when I saw the property map with the poker room being so close to the self parking garage and a valet, I thought they designed it so that the room could get more of a regular crowd going (easy accessibility for the locals or people not staying in the hotel). Not sure if I am making sense, but that was the feeling I got from looking at the property map.

Coming from the north end of the strip, towards sahara is the way I entered the building and it was total cake. Boom-Boom, I was in the garage and in the casino. The garage has electronic signs showing how many open spaces on each level etc. I hear it's more confusing if you're coming from the south end, but I haven't actually tried that way yet. I haven't tried any back entrances either, but they probably exist.
