I guess if your read said villain is a nutjob & you thought K-hi here is good then your calldown is ok. Otherwise I think I would get away from this.

I don't play 10/20. I fold the river getting 6:1 with my K-high. I realize the turn is ripe with semi-bluffing opportunities, but I still fold the river without a read.

I've played several hands recently where I PFR and my heads up opponent would checkcall the flop and then bet the turn and river, and then flip over a strong hand, usually TP or better (but less than straight or flush). Analyzing the hands, most of them did it when a 3rd straight or flush card hit on the turn, so I'm guessing they were planning on checkraising me but instead decided to protect their hand with a bet.

Any postflop reads on opponent?

If you plan on calling the river UI when a relative blank comes, why not just raise the turn/free SD and at least have the chance of putting him off of Ahigh.

Or are you afraid of him 3betting and you being forced to call?

They way you played it, I would let the river go.

IMO:

calling turn and folding river > raising the turn and checking behind > calling the turn and calling the river >> folding the turn.

If villain will lay down a hand, then a turn semi bluff might not be terrible. Certainly better than just calling down, IMO.

Well...unless villain is aggressive. In that case I call the turn, as I don't really feel like paying 3-bets to see the river. ...but I still fold the river.
