3 philosophers is much better (and cheaper) than Chimay Red, IMO.

I didn't know (just looked it up) that Moortgat, the brewers of Duvel, took over full ownership of Ommegang earlier this year. Haven't tried the 3 Philosophers yet, but I'll definitely check it out since it looks like I'm heading to one of Philly's Belgian beer bars on Monday.

I'm drinking a Delerium NoŽl right now (it doesn't get much more Christmasy than a pink elephant on snow skis wearing a santa hat) and it's incredible. Also, if you like Duvel you should try La Fin Du Monde from Unibroue IMHO it's much better and also cheaper.

I dunno about being better than Duvel but La Fin Du Monde is definitely a great value.

I had some of that this year and it was good.

If you liked that, try N'Ice Chouffe or La Chouffe, or Kasteel brown (donker-foncee). You will not be disappointed.
