Default I played really bad last night.......

....and I'm pissed. I coldcalled 3 times, and I never cold call. IMO 2 of them were OK. One was 99 on the button after a raise and a CC. The other was KQs on the button after one raiser. The third one I think sucks, but I want your opinions.

Canterbuty 15/30 (9handed)
EP dude limps, MP raises, one dude CC's, I CC in the hijack with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. How awful is this? 1=suck, 10=awesome

This is not terrible at all IMO. I wouldn't go as far to call it standard but it is also not clearly a -EV move. While I do not always make that play, it just so happens I did so twice yesterday and made enough to give back those two bets another 10 times.....

I'd give it a 3.5

I don't think it's horrible unless your opps are really good players and likely have you dominated. If EP frequently limps with crap and MP is a loose raiser, and the cold caller is bad, then this is probably a +EV cold call.

I'd normally muck this against typical players, but I would call JTs or QJs much of the time.

I like to play this hand in late position with 4 callers, good flop brings healthy returns, no flop get out without much harm. certainly +EV with multi-way pot

I would call these two hands 100% of the time in that spot.

I think it depends on how awful your opponents are. If that is the worst play you made last night, you did OK.

Cold-calling KQs on the button after 1 raiser could be worse than your QTs cold-call.

I made some hideous calldowns. Meh.

I think you are dead right here.

Completely player-dependant. Against certain opposition, I call here 100% of the time. Against others, I muck 100% of the time. All depends on the others' starting hand requiremens, how far they will go with a hand, etc.

Against completely unknown competition in a game 20-40 or above, i fold.

Knowledge is power.

I think the standard line with these hands is clearly to fold preflop. I think you need very good reason to play otherwise.

99 -- 10pts
KQs -- 1pt (3 bet or fold)
QTs -- 1pt (fold)
