Default Re: Celebrity Poker, stupid question...

[ QUOTE ]
..ok, so maybe this is lame, but I just watched Celebrity Poker (11/10 10 p.m. eastern), and I swear the HU play was good. Really good, even.

Is this the norm?

[/ QUOTE ]

Definitely not the norm.

I agree, though, the HU play did appear surprisingly good. (I assume you're talking about the episode with Wendy Pepper.)

I do have a sneaking suspicion, though, that she actually played way too tight HU and made quite a few bad folds. Due to editing, she may have looked better than she was. There were a few comments by Phil Gordon, like when she had A10, I think, and he said something like "If she folds this my head will explode..." or something similar.

That made me think that perhaps she was folding too often in hands we weren't seeing.

Edit: BTW, I generally enjoy Celebrity Poker (regardless of how good or bad the poker play is). They often get players who are quite funny, and I enjoy Gordon's commentary.
