Default Aggression

I am looking to buy a hold'em book that makes me more aggressive. I have both of Harrington's books. Should I go for a David S. book or an Ed Miller book? I've been playing hold'em for 5 years (No Limit only).

Forgot to mention that I play 25/50, .50/1 cent no limit and occasionally 1/2 online.

Any suggestions based off of that? Ed Miller and David S. are only Limit, right? Will that help me or is Ciaffone a good choice?

I'm pretty sure a book won't make you more aggressive. With that out, read Doyle's no-limit section in Supersystem. Argueably a lot of it doesn't apply to micro but it's a very aggressive style.

I agree with jakethebake. Read the NL HE section of Doyle's book. I believe it will make you more agressive than you are now. Some of the information doesn't work in small no limit games that he suggests (like going all in with a straight draw to try to make a guy fold a vulnerable overpair or top pair.) But I'm pretty sure you will learn a few new tricks.

This may be ignorant to say but do you think you can win a large poker tournament (500+ people) with Harrington's tips? To me it seems to help in cashing but it's not aggressive enough to make a final table if you aren't dealt fairly good cards.

Well, Fight Club is great and all but what I really want is a No Limit Hold'em Book to complement my two Harrington books. There are so many poker books out there that I'm really confused. I've read Super System and Play Poker Like the Pros.

If that doesn't work, try steroids.

here

I reckon I'd want to beat the living crap out of everybody within a ten-foot radius after reading that book, so it'll probably serve to make you more agressive like you described.

Nope and I'm sure Harrington would agree considering his lack of tournament success.
