Default $5NL - Check Up Hand

In this game position doesn't really matter, and if you only raise 3-4xBB you will get the same amount of callers.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em (NL$5) (10 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls $0.04, Hero raises to $0.35, 6 folds, UTG calls $0.31.

Flop: ($0.76) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.56, UTG folds.

Final Pot: $1.32.
My question is should I bet this a little smaller with TPTK, and hope to get more money in the pot, or did I play it fine?

fine.

You want to protect your hand against something like JT, which if it calls you has 9 outs. You also want to protect against flush draws, 8 outs.

Looks fine. Don't ever bet small and allow correct odds for a draw to call you.
