Default One 2001fp looks worse

My second 2001fp is kinda fuzzier and darker. Also, it doesn't use all the pixels on 1600x1200 like the primary one. Is there something I can do to test/fix it? Any ideas?

Ok, one looks darker always. I think there is a ghosting problem that is related to my vga source. Do I need a new video card?

first troubleshoot: switch outputs to see if it's the output on the card or the monitor.

edit: second troubleshoot: make sure there are no power cords interfering with the video signal. i.e. move cables around.

Ok, it is definately the output on the card. I have ATI Radeon 9550 AGP VisionTex Xtasy. Can anyone recommend a good AGP card?

For most people's needs here (light gaming, some graphics work, mostly poker), a GeForce 6600 is your best bet. Runs around $100, has dual DVI, and 256MB of video RAM and is powerful enough to process most games that you'll be running.

are you sure the 6600 has dual dvi support? i'm not questioning you, i'm just curious because my friend was told that the cheapest dual dvi card was at least 200 bucks when he was setting up his comp (just a few days ago).

I just overnight ordered 2 xfx 6600GT cards from newegg.com and a dual head dvi kvm. The cards were $150 brand new from newegg. At Fry's, they were $250.

The quality is now much better on both screens.

yes, they're good cards. I'm using an xfx 6800gt and it's really good.

the stock fan / heatsink is very noisy though. I replaced it with a nv silencer fan and it's really good. I'd recommend it...
