Default 12/07 Bad Beat

Here is one from the archives. This happened at least a year ago. I've posted about it several times since then. I've told more people. I considered buying a full page ad in the Washington Post to tell more people. I was so pissed off by it that I punched a tiny hole in the wall and cut my hand. I am seriously still mad about it even a year later. I guess its just one of those bad beats that you'll always remember...

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 max, 5 handed)
saw flop|saw showdown

MP ($249.35)
Button ($97)
SB ($167.35)
Hero ($157.55)
UTG ($118.10)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, MP calls $2, Button calls $2, SB completes, Hero raises to $8, MP raises to $14, Button calls $12, SB folds, Hero raises to $30, MP raises to $46, Button raises to $97 (All-In), Hero raises to $157.55 (All-In), MP calls $111.55.

Flop: ($414.10) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: ($414.10) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($414.10) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Results in white below:
Hero shows Kd Kc (one pair, kings).
MP shows 8c 4d (one pair, eights).
Button shows 5s 8s (two pair, eights and fives).
Outcome: Button wins $293. Hero wins $121.10.

5 outs is not a bad beat. If you want a bad beat, look at this:

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, Hero raises, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (13 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, UTG+2 folds, MP2 calls.

Turn: (9 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button raises, SB folds, MP2 folds, Hero 3-bets, CO folds, Button calls.

River: (16 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button caps, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 24 BB

Button had 55.

Thats a lot of angst over a hand where you didn't even lose much money.

Huh? I lost a $300 main pot, and even then, who gives a [censored], its still a bad beat.

I've killed people for less than this.

Remind me never to bad beat sponger. Also $300 is a lot of beer. Him and I have different tastes when it comes to beer, but it annoys me that he got [censored] out of about 300 beers here.
