Default More Free Advertising for TStone?

So now I see that he has a sticky in MHSH. Since his site is currently non-commercial, I don't think there's anything wrong with having a post about his site. I think, however, that making a sticky about it is over the line. Making a sticky post implies, to a degree, official sanctioning by 2+2, and this is for an external site that is not a paid advertiser. I think that the sticky should be removed, in spite of the fact that it is a good resource for players.

Link to the sticky

Regardless of whether it's an a acceptable post, it shouldn't be a sticky on 2+2.
The mod who stickied it should explain his reasoning.

Also, his avatar is still PokerAVI, with location SITE IS LIVE. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what site he's referring to, even if they haven't read the sticky.

Hi MrWookie:

I agree it is over the line and is not a sticky anymore.

Best wishes,
Mason

As far as I'm concerned, PokerAVI is a tool for better posting, doubly so in MHSH where it's getting used the most, and triply so for us in Other Poker who often don't have the luxury of hand histories. Getting hung up on free advertising or whether somebody else might potentially make money on it someday can only be detrimental. I have a link to it in the OP FAQ and I intend to keep it there.

I fail to see how this could be true, but I'll move past that point for now.

The point is 2+2 doesn't like having stickies that are basically long descriptions or ads for other sites. It suggests that 2+2 itself is endorsing these sites. How can anyone possibly think it's unreasonable to not want things like that being stickied?

Good to know. I'm not sure if that's a problem, but it's certainly not as overt as having a whole thread about one site stickied at the top of a forum.

Here's a question- not really for us- but this site is potentially a great tool and a great benefit for us. If TStone wants it- is it something that Mason/David/Whoeverelse makes these kinds of calls want to endorse?

I was out of town for a few days and didnt' see this go down - i'm glad it got unstickied because that was definitely too far.

as others have mentioned, the service is a very helpful one, and makes viewing shorthanded/heads-up sessions much less time consuming and has done alot to foster increased dialogue... additionally I hear he's paying for it out-of-pocket so I think the post itself is fine so long as it's not a sticky.
